ICR is a 501-c-3, non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of tropical rainforests.
ICR's conservation strategy is based on a diversified economic approach to counter deforestation in the tropics. ICR's goal is to establish an unequivocal model to demonstrate that tropical rain forest conservation or restoration and sustainable rainforest conservation or restoration and sustainable use is the most attractive alternative to land us in the wet tropics.
You can be part of the solution of these problems through contribution of professional expertise, donations to support existing projects and/or investing in new projects ("Doing well by doing good").
A successful model needs to be ecologically sustainable, as well as, economically sustainable. The latter is often missing in sustainable development programs. Economic incentives are necessary for both local and international investors. Our past projects have an excellent record in both aspects, but until now ICR's full strategy remains to be enacted by any of our clients (government and private). Therefore, ICR has acquired land in Costa Rica to fully implement its strategy. This is an exciting chapter in our history (since 1988) and you can be part of this pioneering effort. Annual Basic Membership: $38.00. Members are entitled to discounted travel to project countries.
